History

Founded in 1978, HagerSmith Design has grown from a single-proprietor architectural practice to a full-service, multi-disciplinary planning and design firm. Our office is located in downtown Raleigh which allows convenient access to all of our local and statewide clients and projects. Our design staff includes architects, interior designers, landscape architects and construction contract administrators.

Firm Philosophy

A successful project is the realization of a client’s goals and objectives. We work to achieve success through innovative design, dedicated service, and creating a shared vision with our clients.

Our Green Initiative

In early 2008, we formed a Green Committee to help spearhead efforts in the office to “live what we preach,” and to become an innovator in community outreach and education.  From basic procedure to the infrastructure of our office, HagerSmith is changing the way we do business.

We also started initiatives in our office which include:

• Recycled paper fill all printers and plotters
• Energy efficient plotters have replaced less sustainable models
• New low-flow fixtures were installed in our restrooms
• Recycling locations have been placed throughout the office
• CFLs have taken the place of less efficient incandescents

Policies and procedures have been implemented that include:

• No mass-packaging for company lunches
• Telecommuting availability
• Compensation for public transportation or carpool
