The vision for this lot was a five story, brick building which would abut the adjacent public sidewalks in keeping with the surrounding properties. The first floor of the 50,000 square foot building is retail development. The remaining upper floors will be residential condominiums or a boutique hotel. A small parking lot is provided interior to the site, with additional parking spaces being leased from an existing nearby lot. The project is presently in the approval process and has already received a Certificate of Appropriateness from New Bern’s Historic Preservation Commission.
