Grifols develops and produces therapies and products in three healthcare divisions: Bioscience therapies made from human plasma; Hospital products and pharmacy IV solutions; and Diagnostic tools for laboratory professionals. HagerSmith has worked with Grifols and their former companies, Bayer and Talecris, for over 15 years on various projects at NCSU’s Centennial Campus, Grifols RTP headquarters offices, their RTP and Raleigh lab facilities and most recently on several projects at their Clayton plant. The range of projects includes office space, laboratory facilities, and manufacturing and totals over $40 million in construction value.
Grifols’ Plasma Logistics Center is located on the Grifols Clayton Campus and is a vital cold storage facility supporting their largest manufacturing site. HagerSmith just completed the design and construction documents for this high bay automated storage and retrieval facility. The ASRS accommodates over 7000 pallet positions at -35C. The shipping and receiving areas are maintained at +5C. Double redundant power supplies and cooling are key to the design. Supporting spaces include 12,000 square feet of office and conference space, locker rooms, a two story entry lobby.
