The Mordecai Historic Park consists of the 1785-1826 Mordecai House and its plantation outbuildings, together with several historic structures which have been moved to the site. Since 1999, HagerSmith Design has been involved in assessing conditions at Mordecai Historic Park, planning repairs and restoration work, and supervising construction projects. Thus far,areas included have been the Plantation Chapel, Mordecai House, Badger-Iredell Law Office, Post Office, the Kitchen, the Andrew Johnson Birthplace and House, the Smokehouse, and the Plantation Office Building. The three-phase process has involved new roofs, carpentry and masonry repairs, new interior finishes, and repainting.
