The Walnut Creek Softball complex is the City of Raleigh’s largest softball facility, consisting of ten fields in two five field wheels. It was built on the city’s very first sewage treatment plant that was reconditioned to allow for the use. HagerSmith designed all the site features and the building structures at the complex. The many amenities that support the complex is a centrally located courtyard with a two story building that houses concessions, public restrooms and scorekeeper’s tables.
The softball complex is a successful venue for Raleigh’s Parks and Recreation Department. Besides being home to some of the city’s men’s and women’s softball leagues it has also been host to numerous regional and collegiate softball tournaments.
