Constructed in 1959, the Visitor Center for Wright Brothers Memorial is a significant example of the Philadelphia School of Modernism and a prominent contribution of the Mission 66 National Park Service construction effort. Decades of continued exposure to a harsh coastal climate had taken their toll on the iconic structure, and the National Park Service tapped HagerSmith for a substantial renovation effort.

After a two-year rehabilitation and preservation effort, the Visitor Center reopened with upgraded solar panels, geothermal wells, native plantings, and accessibility improvements.

Thanks to the successful rehabilitation efforts, future generations will continue to have an opportunity to learn about the significance of the Wright Brothers and the discovery of flight.
